Drive to Shigatse, stopping at the dazzling Yamdrok Lake for a lakeside picnic (weather permitting). Continue to view the Karola Glacier, then visit a Tibetan household to help with farming and learn about daily life. Conclude with a tour of Palcho Monastery in Gyantse.

In the morning, visit Tashilunpo Monastery, the traditional seat of the Panchen Lama. Then, set off for Rongbuk Monastery, the world’s highest monastery near Mount Everest Base Camp (5,200 m). Enjoy the sunset over Everest, a moment of quiet magnificence.
